So basically 1 x piece of pen tube flared at one end is ample enough.

Just gone to fit this and noticed i never actually had the VAC pipe in the first place, just the hole where it should be, no sign if the pipe anywhere either?! Why haven't I had any warning lights come on?

That's weird mine ran like **** when I left mine to atmosphere!!

Coincidence, I'm sure.

Well its funny how I left it to atmosphere and it had a judder at 2000rpm and eml came on then I put the vac pipe in the filter cleared the fault code and never had a problem since

I run a big paper cone filter with the vac pipe running to atmosphere with no ill effects

After reading this thread it has inspired me to do the same and today I have ordered a s2000 filter. As I do approx 550miles a week can any one tell me how their fuel consumption has been since installing this filter?

Cheers

You'll notice no difference whatsoever unless you start to drive it harder cos of the sound but you'll get the same mpg as driving it hard with the standard air filter in if that makes sense. Post pics up when it's done!!

Interestingly enough the picture on the euro car parts website showed the filter with green paper but it's actually red and it looks great, can't believe it only cost £12.90!

Sooooooo as the weather was good last night I had a go at fitting the S2000 filter and I can honestly say it is one of the easiest modifications I have done since fitting led number plate lights

As mentioned in previous posts above they look great and make a nice roar when you have the throttle wide open.

Even managed to use a bit of the broken fuel T piece from the fuel filter to create a nice tight fit on the vac pipe or whatever it is.

Looking good :) glad you found it easy to do. Are you going to run a cold air feed or just leave the standard one on? Just needs the strut brace red to match now ;)

Just noticed mine looks to be pointed down more than yours, have you left the bottom of your airbox in?

Mines in the same position as the white and red one, I found it didn't fit under the bonnet with the bottom of the air box in on mine... Good mod though. Pleased with mine, compliments the mufflerectomy!

It makes mine really loud when I get to 2500rpm :) made it hard to find my boost leak with that sucking like mad in my ear lol

I have a mufflerectomy booked in for Friday afternoon and very much looking forward to the noise combo

I dont want to be 'that guy' ..but no one has said anything about this drawing in the warm engine air?

Since its not mentioned i'll assume i'm wrong about it, but if anyone knows reasoning behind it please share :) (im a real geek for that sort of thing) lol

Edit: just saw a great post on the airfilterbox thread and am happy now! :)

Warm air won't make a difference as it gets heated up to stupid temperatures anyway and you have a intercooler to cool it down.

I've had a K&N on every car I've ever owned (all petrol) and never noticed heat soak on any of them. I think it's abit of a old wives tale everyone jumps on the band wagon with

Sure someone asked about a blue one

Yes Kyle that was probably me.. I ordered one from Amazon, the picture on it was blue, it said it was blue, I turned up, red and black.. bit annoying but at least it wasn't lime green!

Got a red one from ecp today b'cos of this thread!Currently £12.90. Bargain! You guys should be on commission! Ha. Quick question about the vac pipe. Is there a way of removing it from the top of the airbox, without taking to it with a blade? In case I want to go back to the stock setup!
