  • Well its a good job its not your car then aint it and it is a huge drop from what it was. Instead of slating other peoples cars try thinking before you do so this is a club were we all have different

  • Put non vrs eibach a on mine which dropped it 14mm ish had all the arguments about weight but really??? They are supplied for a 1.8t hatch and mines a vrs 1.8t hatch!!! So the weight difference is wha

  • At the end of the day modifying cars isn't as simple as buying parts made for your car- it's all about trial and error. That's half the fun in modifying a car, trying things nobody else has done and s

Good luck mate the fronts are a PITA to do need to drop bottom ball joint, and poss let driveshaft nut go. Also pinch bolt can be f@&£ing tight.

Ive done a few mk4 golfs so shouldnt be too hard

WHich springs did you get mate? In 2 minds on springs or coilies

Nearly new apex or spax they couldnt remember what ones the were

ECP do a set of amax made by apex for £78. You'll probably find your shocks are shot when you take them off like I did. Then starts the stress of getting shocks with the ARB mountings on. However if the shocks are ok then the ECP ones look good quality from what I saw when I got em.

Fronts have been done at somepoint as its got wrong springs on cos it sits too high

Glad Spax are doing them ,used them to lower quite a few times but I reckon I'll check the shocks first then decide on coilies or not

Are these specific to VRS or generic springs for Octavia.

Sent from my Samsung S3

Standard shocks probably a bad idea too...

What's the betting it ends up with a 14mm drop... ;)

Mk4 golf ones nd itll have more than 14mm drop demonufo

Not if you've fitted generic springs it won't. The vRS is already a 26mm drop. The weight rating will probably be all to **** as well.

If it does drop more than 14mm, it's because they're not correctly rated.

Well i will see wen fitted

Plus as ive said above they wrong springs are already fitted and it sitting too high so atm any drop will do

Well, the DROP might do, but how about the actual spring rating...

Don't know what you've been changing but bottom balljoint and driveshaft dont have to be touched.

Just drop link removed

Sensor on left front iirc

Compress spring

Split hub (ground down on 2 sides 8mm allen key - insert and rotate 90 degrees)

Remove top mount

Compressed spring and it still wouldn't come out so had to pop bball joint out.

Easier just to undo the three mounting bolts for the ball joint, and leave the joint well alone. ;)

Ive done plenty nd be fine doin then nd thanks for helping guys im doin them tomorrow

Yeah that's what I did don't like messing with ball joints always risk splitting the boot.

What drop are they mate? With mine I want the rear up a bit more but the front's looking spot on and it should drop a wee bit more after a week or 2 as well
