Does leaving a Memory stick in the USB port take power from the car een when the car is left overnight and not running?

I have fund sometimes the Audio display sayys "Please Wait" for ages and nothing happens then other times it works stright away.

Is this normal? And as first asked will it eventualy drain the battery.  Am I best to remove the USB stick?

If you mean draining the car battery then no. Not by an USB memory stick.

No & even if it did you wouldn't notice it.

Thank you, I only asked because when I go to the car in the morning, there is a red light showing on the USB Stick, but with retrospect I don't suppose it's any more than the flashing lght showing it is locked.

I have a USB unit connected 24/7 myself. It also lights red, but it means nothing as far as i know. Works fine when starting the car.

When you unlock the car, it wakes up all the systems so they are ready to go when you are. This includes powering up the entertainment system, even if the headunit is switched off.

When you lock the car, the entertainment system will remain active for 10-15mins just in case you want to get in and drive again. After that time the can gateway sends a shutdown command to the units and they power off.

Therefore if you drive the car after leaving it for a short while, the USB may still be powered, and the headunit is ready to play the music. Overnight it may well say "please wait" but that depends on how long you leave it before turning the headunit on from unlocking.
