Hi all,

Have a 2013 Superb, great car and in general no issues with it (hoping that's not the kiss of death). The one gripe I have is with the Amundsen sat nav, when navigating it can (and often does) stop voice instruction mid sentence (such as "turn left at the second..."). I know that this isn't unique to my Superb as my wife's cousin bought a 2014 Superb FL (having been in mine) and hers does the same thing. Has anyone else experienced this or is it down to ROI maps and corrupt software?

While I'm at it, does anyone know whether there are any updates to the maps for the Amundsen+ and how it's done? I've looked online and from what I can see it says the SD card is to be placed into slot 2, where is this??

Well, for the voice only giving you half sentences I can't really help since I have made the voice go away completely. Let us say that I find voice directions extremely annoying ... and that is on a good day ... ;-)

 

The updates however needs to be bought from a Skoda dealer or if you can persuade a dealer to do it for you at somewhat lower cost. If not you look at a hefty £200-220 for the upgrade ... No downloads or any other options are available as of now ...

Mine does the same........I've got used to it. As it only covers European roads at main road level I still keep a Garmin and use this if I need a fix of UK rather than EU English. As the maps slowly deteriorate (ie the road network changes!) I will probably use the Garmin more. it only cost £80 with lifetime map updates!. 

 

Satnav wasn't, for me, a key feature of the SE Plus package... but a nice bonus

Mine did the same too but like Anders I just turned her off.

My Superb FL with Amundsen+ doesn't do this.

It sounds like a software issue. Dealer update should fix it, or replace the unit under warranty.

Cheers guys, I'm at the dealers on Friday (wife picking up a Rapid spaceback) and will make arrangements to drop it in for a software update. Anyone know what the latest firmware/map version is?

Hi again, actually no problem with mine either, had the chatty lady activated while driving to work this morning ... and may she stay quite forever after ...
