undo the 4 x 10mm bolts per side, undo the bolts on both mounts at the same time slide the radiator out to the side to get a bit of clearance replace, and reverse of what you did, simples.

From the searches I've done i thought the front bumper needed to come off. Its supposed to be a mare to do as well. I've never done the job though so I'm not totally certain.

ok sweet will get some pics of them and see how bad they actually are before having them done

I just wedged some foam into mine to stop it rattling :D

I've just done that as well. Its worked a treat! To be fair ( to me ) my mounts aren't broken it was just squeeking like a London taxi!!

i tie-rapped mines at one point, simple easy cheap fix

I can't believe we are comparing quick bodges sorry fixes!!.......

I did mine when i removed my front panel to get it painted when i fitted my front mount,

They are a complete bitch to replace as the bolts holding them in will probably be seized solid and once you get them undone trying to move the rad back enough to get them out is a right laugh as the aircon condensor is also bolted to the rad from memory and the pipes don't bend,

The mounts are cheap enough to buy but its bumper off and headlights out and maybe intercooler depending how easy mounting bolts are to get to down that corner (carn't remember altho i had already taken cooler off by then)

I thought the job was nasty from the searches I've done on it. And most come back on two months later to say noise has returned. I'm very fussy with my cars and will not cut corners but I weighed this job up and thought s*d it stuff it with some foam!!

now that volvomeg has mentioned the air con pipes ect..... i'am based my input on a non aircon'd car, that does have the rooom to do it, should have thought about that before i started typing

I think its safe to say we've gave Haych123 plenty of warning!!

I used a bit of cut down hose pipe to wedge mine for my quick bod.... I mean fix

Easiest way is front bumper off, crash bar off, headlights out, slam panel out as far as you can unless you want to disconnect the bonnet latch (easy!) and drain the coolant and remove it completely....takes about 3hrs!

Nothing hard about it,it's just spannering the mounts are about £25 for all 4 from the dealers also....

had a good look at mine yesterday... the peg for the top N/S mount is snapped clean off  and the bottom on is just not in its mounting so my rads sort of just floating

my driverside mounts are perfectly fine :wonder:

any pics of how you done it might have to 'fix' mine for the time being..

I did exactly the same :)

I used same bodge to stop a knocking ARB on my old merc lol.

ok mate thanks anyways.. going to have to try and do what I can with it..

Did mine and didn't think it was too bad really. Once you've got the crash bar and slam panel undone me and a mate just leant it forwards to change the bushes. If the pegs have snapped though then it's probably pointless! New radiator time! If you're getting a knocking sound from the front change the drop links first. I chased the noise all round the car (radiator mounts, dog bone mount, roll bar bushes) only to find it was a badly worn drop link!

Foam takes seconds, lol

I've still got a set of mounts from about 6 years ago "ready" to fit.

I wrapped some foam in black gaffer tape around the same time, stuffed it underneath and it's still there now rattle free

As said previously it's not difficult and will also give you the opportunity to clean up the normally scabby slam panel.

A fair bit of spanner work to remove front end but by no means beyond most people's capability. The end results are satisfying and Rad mounts should last another 12 years now.

how do I get the slam panel off seen one on ebay with the rad and mounts so would be a straight forward swap..

To remove slam panel. Bumper off lights out crash bar off. Then bolts at top of slam panel. Also radiator brackets. Just spanner work nothing hard.
