octavia vrs tdi cr dsg gear change problem

Featured Replies

hi everyone I have a problem that I would like help with, my 11 reg Octavia vrs tdi has developed this problem when the DSG gearbox changes gears it makes this hissing sound and after getting it checked I was told the oil cooler had gone bust and the gearbox oil had went into the radiator and because the oil level has gone down thus the gear changing is making the hissing sound coz its not as lubricated so I got the oil cooler change, the gearbox oil and filter changed and got the radiator flushed but just after 300miles its started again.

so can anyone help me out and let me know anything to help with this problem

thanks

Ali

Surely it's under warranty? I'd be pushing for a new gearbox as you don't know what damage has been caused

That's my problem it's done 75k and warranty is till 60k and I'm dreading the new gearbox, I'm just hoping its something small like a seal or something.

Take it back to the garage that did the initial diagnosis and repair and tell them you are not happy and ask them to take another look.

Failing that I would be going to Skoda UK (if you're in UK) and filing a case with them under sales of goods act.
