Monte Carlo pulls to the left when driving.

No, if they fail 3 times to correctly resolve an Issue that is recognised as a legit Warranty item,

it is time to take action against Skoda UK,  not void a Warranty.

You tell Skoda UK that the vehicle is not Fit For Purpose and you will have a Qualified Motor Engineers Report Prepared and will be recovering costs from them.

THe only help should be Trading Standards or a Solicitor, and you would be looking to recover that costs as well.

Well, took it out for a drive last night, on a quiet road I straddled the white line and even drove on the wrong side of the road, the car still pulls seriously to the left. Phoned dealers today and the engineer stated this was due to the camber in the road. Told them if this was the case it should pull right when driving on the wrong side. I'm not happy with the cars setup, neither is swmbo. Got a road test booked in the near future. I'll take the technician out this time so can't think he's bulls******* a woman.

Checked the in car can, and it looks like they did the tracking.

But not happy with it. No car I have ever driven has pulled to the left like this, I am constantly fighting to keep it straight. I can't believe swmbo has put up with it for so long.

There are Technicians around the UK that are trying to BS everyone over what is a serious issue.

Get the Workshop Manager to test drive the car and bring the matter up with the Dealership Manager.

They are now taking the Pith with many people,

some cars are blatantly unsafe, and they are not acting responsibly and Skoda UK are just unprofessional and not meeting

their Corporate Responsibility towards customers buying New Vehicles.

Finally - SWMBO's Monte went in and they had a real good look and have ordered 4 new tyres..

At least if this doesn't sort it - she has 4 new tyres FOC.

Booked in for next week - let's see if this sorts the issue,

I have  had a 4 tracking checks now skoda tec in the car with me and showed him what was happening straight road 50mph no camber and it pulled to the left he said something is wrong. so back to suk and got a phone call they want another tracking test done that will be 5 and the tec to go out on his own and me not to influence him. Sounds  like they are going to say either tracking was out or tec said its ok so not a warranty issue

skoda 1982

Same here my friend.

Over the past year I have had 5 re re re re re alignments. On every occasion they said the tracking was out, or the tyre pressures were not correct.

When I got home I checked the pressures & all were low. Both with my airline then with my Digital gauge.

Had the 4 New Pirelli Tyres.

Took it back last month, still pulling + a noise like a wheel bearing.

Even had the Technician in the car with me. He agreed the noise.

Wife collected the car only to find they had washed it....

Its been rebooked back in for next week. I have now started to get shirty with them & I insisted they now ring Skoda & report to them.

We will see how it goes.

Car in for another two days.

The noise from the front is according to dealer tyres.

They are wearing badly on their inner edges.

They have moved them F to R.

Now unless Skoda get themselves into gear before too long I will need 4 new tyres, as they say the tracking has been checked yet again.

So Skoda. The new tyres fitted last year to cure the problem of Pulling to the left, only masked the problem and not cured it.

I am now waiting for Skoda UK customer services to ring me about the matter.

Dont hold your breath.

You could tell SKODA UK that you are going to have a Specialist Engineers Report done on the car,

and you are invoicing them for it,

or

They can arrange it and correct the vehicle or replace it if they have no technicians capable of doing that.

Vorsprung Durch Technik, decades of Motorsport Heritage from Skoda and the VW Group,

and unable to build a road car with the correct geometry

How much mileage have you done on these tyres?

SWMBO had her tyres replaced FOC by SUK under warranty - although they wouldn't admit it was a fault.

Drives like a dream now - but she's had a call asking her to take it to a nearby Audi dealership for 4 wheel alignment - again FOC.

Hi there

This is very interesting... I've put a deposit down on a 13-plate Monte and it was pulling to the left.

I've asked for the cars tracking to be looked at and re-set before I purchase, but sounds like this could be a more fundamental issue reading the thread.

Hmmmm scratching my head a bit now as I'm not buying it if its going to just keep pulling to left.

Just "tracking " or even " laser assisted alignment" ,whatever you want to call it,is not necessarily going to tell you the whole story.

This is repeating what has no doubt been said but you need a place with a Hunter computerised set up,an expensive piece of kit, hence there are not many about.

These provide measurements of ALL the suspension angles, front and rear and you get two printouts of these, before and after the correcting adjustments (the equipment knows the factory settings to be worked to for any car).

Of course on a Fabia some angles are non- adjusable and if they are out it means, possibly, that the car was built out of tolerance, but good luck to getting a Skoda dealer to admit that.

Exactly, they aren't. Simple fact is different tyres will fix it if they're Dunlop Sport Maxx that are currently fitted.

The poster today went to roadtest a car and it had Continentals fitted,

It might be simply a car needing realigned,

but other cars have had Dunlop Sport Maxx 205/40 17 replaced with Continentals and Pirelli tyres,

and the underlying problem was not sorted.

Plenty owners/drivers to be able to tell their tale, which did not come out like yours,

New Tyres, Problem gone.

Is this the case always the case?...I thought changing the tyres didn't always sort it,but can't really remember all the massive thread contents on this matter.

Personally I have lived with the slight pull and never gone back to the dealer and now,at 17k miles,I can't see me getting tyres FOC.

I am on the dunlops and there is still quite a bit of life left in them.I have no incentive to do anything about it now since I will be changing the car in the next few months.

....but if I was keeping the car I could perhaps have some fun,if you want to call it that. There is a local garage I have used with a Hunter set up.I could use that to get the readings and, finding they were out of tolerance, then complain to the Skoda dealer about the pull.

If I was then given a load of bull I could then confront them with the readings and, after much back and forth, perhaps prove the car had not been built in alignment at the factory ....potentially a problem as big for them as the oil issue?

My car back in now for 3 days for checks.

So far they have fitted 4 new tyres again. Yes, second lot of tyres. This time they are not Pirelli's.

Skoda Tech guy down from factory to inspect the car Wednesday.

Thats it.

They had the car for 5 days & still not right.

Dealer has offered an exceptional deal so trading the Monte back.

New car hopefully in 10 days.

We had enough of the fault so decided to jump cars now rather than live with the problem & lose loads of money at a later date..

This car just eats tyres.

What a shame we both loved the Monte but 7 times back to dealer was it.

Hopefully we might have better luck with the Yeti.
