1.8 TSI 91,000 miles not out!

Featured Replies

My 58 plate  Octavia 1.8 TSI has now completed 30k and is showing 91k on the clock

Owned for 2 years nothing has caused me any hassle apart from the usual rear wiper and I solved that myself last week.

Costs other than 2 MOTS and an  oil change every 6k are ...4 bulbs, rear pads and 2 litres of oil for topping up

She easily manages 160 miles on 4 gallons of V-Power... showing 45mpg on my  daily 40 mile commute

Unless somebody makes me an offer I cannot refuse to the 320D will  have wait another year.

I can't/won't trade mine in, as I have always done at or around end of warranty in the past, because there is no model that attracts me like my 58 1.8 TSi.

Why on earth they dropped this engine I'll never know. Don't want a diesel or a vRS so I'm stuck. And anyway mine has only done 37K from new (all with me) so for the first time ever I will probably drive this one into the ground - in fact it could even outlast me in years!!!

Within reason, I'll just cough up for maintenance and repairs as needed, so far (touching wood) very little.
