Anyone else have 'on road enemies'?

Featured Replies

Now, this may seem a bit odd, but I have seemed to have grown enemies with (new) Mini Coopers. When ever I see one they always seem to want to race, and in most occasions I can keep up and even beat them, especially uphills :D which makes them most annoyed :D:D

Does anyone else have this problem / scenario?

Ive had a few Golfs come up behind me fast usually TDIs but I can never be bothered so I let them past. Its the odd idiot in Paxo VTRs etc that I enjoy wasting ;) Makes a nice change to the milk floats/bin lorrys/tractors that I could manage in my Punto......

I have the same problem with reps in A4 TDI`s and I must say its great fun covering them with soot as I put distance between us

Have that problem (or opportunity) with Mini Coopers, 206RCs and very recently, modified Golfs (MK4) (awaiting attacks from fellow members who refuse to believe the capabilities of my little car...).

Mine is the baseball cap wearing old clio drivers that try and stay in second gear at 60

Everyone!! My car looks sporty but iv got no power!!

I especially like BMW 3 series. They seem to think that cause it has a bmw badge it is a M3.

i get the problem with Audi's and mini's! occasionally cupras and ibizas too

Everyone on the road hates Mondeo drivers

Chris

Especially RED ones  :P :P

Actually I prefer to not make enemies on the road, even more so in areas where I drive all the time.

Doesn't mean I won overtake someone for a laugh sometimes, but I wouldnt purposefully block anyone just because they drive a car of type R (or M ;) )

Everyone. They're all in my way or trying to get past or minding their own business or stopped by the side of the road. Filthy cruntists!

I agree, except I dont know what a cruntist is.

p.s. Just did a google search for "cruntists" and it came back with only one response, is that a google whack?

Golf's I always get Golf's try it on...

Coming back down the M6 from Leyland yesterday had a Mk IV golf hanging on my backside, I was just going past some trucks and in the middle lane, outside lane was empty but he insisted on hanging on to me in the middle lane.

Got up to about 80 ish then just thought ..... nah ... let him go, tell you what though when I did pull over he pulled in behind me again then pulled out and floored it. It had a TDI badge on the back but must have been mapped (or had a V8 in there LOL) because it took off like my neighbours cat avoiding my karcher :) no smoke it just fecked off to be a dot in the distance.

Had a couple of problems with coopers, and there seems to be a theme with 3 series beemer coupe's.

Less people try it on than they used to when I was out in the Impreza though, which is a good thing :)

Fluff

Octavia drivers always try it on.

Hate to say it, but I've a feeling that my 'BRISKODA' sticker may be responsible for some unwanted attention on the road! Afterall, I only drive a PD100, but since fitting my sticker in the rear window, I'm certain I've experienced more drivers 'having a go'. Obviously this only applies to those that can read, but the wording does suggest that the car wearing the sticker may be hiding somthing under the bonnet.

I find it's usually the 'type' of person least likely to ever own a Skoda that is more likely to try something - guess their blinkered brains are struggling to deal with evidence in front of them conflicting with their personal image of the brand!?

Impreza drivers seem to get a little upset wth me. :D

Not all of them, some give me the thumbs up (at least I think it's their thumbs!) :D

Probably the thumbs up, Fabby vRS's seem to be held in a higher regard on scoobynet than they do on briskoda (this is not a troll, so please back off pipe and slipper brigade). In fact it was the ramblings about them on scoobynet that actually got me to test drive one and the rest as they say is history ...... bye bye MY03 WRX PPP - Hello Fabby vRS and as a bi product, there appears to be some cash left in my wallet at the end of the month now as well :)

I think a googlewhack has to be two words?

Anyways; "crunt" is a generic swearword, so calling someone a "cruntist" is a general insult. It's very satisfying to say, I find, and I'd like to see it in more general use. :)

C2's and Paxo's......

BMW 3 series, inevitably low-order versions in coupe bodystyle...(a 318? You're having a larf ain't ya?!)

But then, I let them win because I don't see the point of driving like my pants are on fire........ :D

For some reason 3 door Astras (old style) seem to hate me? (no, not white ones with blue and red stickers...)

I had a few "enemies" but the best one was a Mini Cooper - the guy missed the second gear and off I went (with 3 of my friends in the car, as well) :D Then there was a few foreign elderly Merc/Audi/BMW/VW-drivers who just couldn't believe that it's a 1.2 engine under the bonnet...my luck was that I knew every single mile of the road ;)

Apart from that, I don't seem to have a constant enemy on the road :(

the welsh :o

Anyone hogging lane 3!

I find most Mini divers have thier heads too far up their own arses to notice anything else on the road let alone a Skoda
