Fabia vrs auxiliary belt size (mk1)

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Changed free wheel pulley on the alternator the other day as the old one was caput. But did not change the belt at the same time (was looking a bit cracked)

Just having a look for one on the net now and have come across three different sizes?

780/1180/1873mm

780mm sounds about right, just looking for confirmation (id take it off and measure but away on business without car atm)

Cheers

Bump. Anyone any ideas? cant seem to find anything definitive on this site or google.

Thanks,

Hi jamass

Have a look at this link.

http://www.partsbase.org/skoda/fabia-fab-eu-2005-90355-connecting-and-mounting-parts-for-alternator-poly-v-belt/

Seems that 780mm is the size you need. Have replaced mine in the past. Got it from GSF parts via registration number. There will - of course - be other sources for this part.

Hope this helps.

Alan

Sorry! jamass. Too quick to post!! Seems that for ASZ and BLT engined cars WITH air conditioning you need a belt that's 1180 mm!! That'll teach me!! ( look further down the partbase illustration.)

Nice one Alan. Great link. 780 was one of three sizes GSF seem to be recommending  :wonder:

Thanks for your help.

Just to confirm jamass. Now thinking that longer belt - 1180mm for cars with air con - is the correct one. Sorry for 'confusion'.

Cool, Cheers dude

Cross referenced it with Eurocarparts and 1180mm IS the size you want jamass.
