The best stripping out for track use!

Featured Replies

Steve! Take note! :P

The loom whipping out session today went semi-OK, despite only concentrating on it for around 4 hours intensely. In that time the dash is out, most of the loom at the rear end is disconnected, most of the front end is disconnected - Just need to get the carpet & some more trim & headlining out down the nearside to recover more wiring.

New loom looks in A1 condition though, so I'm dead chuffed with Hills Motors!

Its not too bad really, once you know where all the wires are, and I DO from a similar little "one way" operation on my previous car. :D

It WILL live.

good luck doctor, first dibs on a passenger ride at traxx?? :D

Is that the Powerflow tailpipes I can see? :D

Just edited my entry - won't be going on track at TRAX now. :o

Jon - you be very right - The bracket needs adjusting at the back as its a little different with the new engine and the pipe is being pushed up into the vallance.

They look OK, but you don't want them too close the valance.

Are they round or oval?

i went to a powerflow dealer on thursday but they could only supply me a cat-back exhaust so still got to travel the 5,000 miles upto to blueflame

oh well!

5,000 miles

Pair of rounds I think, but might be ovals, slightly. They did hang down about 1" below the vRS gap in the bumper, but with the new engine setup its pushed it up. Just needs a new bracket thats all, or some whacking with a hammer. ;)

hit it boy don't tickle it!!!!

Could this be time for another poll. "how many bits will Jason have left over"

I think ive got you beat on the stripping out game J

:)

Also dont you now think that yellow Fabia 'vRS' that was on E-bay os even more suspicious now knowing what work is involved to fit a 130PD into a 100PD.

Jason,

There's a massive amount of useful information in that photo. If the car is still in a state of disassembly, please take plenty of pics for us.

Mods: could we have a special 'Fabia-in-bits' gallery please?

that is actually a very good idea

won't me and my octavia though

:P

Not the way Jason will put it back together ;)

A BIG concern for me is putting it back so the wiring doesn't rattle at all. I'm basically busting the clips holding it all in, so might consider "other" ways of securing the new loom in the positions its meant to sit. :)

:finger::rofl: Is you're name down for Trax? I'm not bothering with the track this year as I thought I'd only get about 2 laps in anyway with you going. :D;) :P

By the way, the COMPLETE interior loom is now out.
