Very high mileage VRS value?

Featured Replies

I have a very well maintained 2004 VRS with 190,000 miles on the clock, almost all motorway cruising. Its currently in good working order but I will be getting another work car soon so I need to sell it on. It will be genuinely missed. The best car i've ever had. It certainly not been cheap to run as I've always kept it very well maintained.

I understand that the mileage would put most buyers off, but what sort of price would be reasonable to sell it for? Its got a relatively young turbo on it and new front tyres.

150,000 milers seem to go for £3k

There's one 200,000 miler for sale at £2k

Does £2k same like a reasonable sum?

Why not start higher? It's always better to start high and negotiate down!

I understand that people are utterly fixated on mileage but you should look to sell on condition rather than mileage.

You can find sub 100K for under 3k these days.

The old adage is that it is worth what people will pay.

How about putting on the Bay of Flea, with a starting price of what you would realistically accept, and then anything else is a bonus.

I would really push the fact hard expunge it's mileage, it has had a lot of Monet spent on maintenance (not to correct faults, just routine stuff).

Or, become a Freedom member, enjoy the benefit and place the car in the Cars For Sale section, as the guys on here would be my first port of call to sell to....

But it's not just about miles is it? I'd rather a 200k car with fsh and been looked after than a 100k with no history thats dog rough.

+1 It's all about testing the water. Get the point across it's had no expense spared caring for it, should get a reasonable amount for it.

I'd value it at about £1,800.
