I've got a ltd edition octavia and want to change the gearknob been looking about but was just wondering if anybody has changed gearknob and for what and have any pics .

Some people change to the S line hear knobs. They are shorter and perforated like the steering wheel. When I get around to buying one I will be getting the audi one.

Ive just won a mk4 golf r32 gearknob & gaiter on the dreaded ebay.........lets hope it fits my octy!  :blush:

    Had another idea I've bought two key fob Vrs badges and will sink one of them into the silver piece then remove it and wrap in gloss black refit badge and then refit to gear knob .

    Well that's the plan much cheaper than a new one

    mk4 golf should fit fine - same diameter shaft and method of fixing.  i did one on my cousin's mk4 gti - exactly the same as the vrs.

    Not happening.......it turned up & looked nothing like the picture.......it was a cheap & nasty copy.......got my money back.

    Shame as need a new gearknob :(

    Mine is ok,just fancied a change..........will have to wait now.......i fitted LED's to my number plate lights & sidelights & my o/s headlight release mechanism was seized solid (never been out in 5 years) & i broke it trying to get the headlight out so new mounting bracket required now.  :blush:

    How do you get that centre section out? the foil is coming off mine, was looking at giving it a light paint or replace.

    I just used a small flat bladed electrical screwdriver and went in between the leather and centre and popped it out at the top and bottom

    The centre part has two tabs either side top and bottom that slide into slots on the leather part of the gearknob
