Which car seats?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm just going to take possession of my first ever Skoda on the 1st March (unusually excited, almost feel as if I'm about to be initiated into a masonic order), the first question my better half had however was will the Octavia take three car seats across the back. Can anyone advise if this is the case and if so which type?

Dont think it does..Mate of mine had to buy an S-max as only a few car types will take 3 car seats across the back.

I do hope so (I'm pretty sure)!

My three lils (7, 6 and 3 y.o.) are seating within a humble Honda Jazz (and did NOT in a BMW 3 series).

Anyway, you'll know before me...

There's extremely few cars that will take 3 proper (Isofix) child seats in the back, those being mainly MPVs. You'll struggle to get 3 child seats in the back of any regular car, doesn't matter the size and class.

At least with the Octavia you have the option of getting Isofix for the front passenger seat.

Of course, in my case, I was talking of (old-fashioned) arrangement with traditional safety belts.

I've got 3 kids across the back of my vrs FL. 15 month old in proper car seat, 5 year old in a hard booster seat and 7 year old in the middle in a bubble bum blow up booster seat. The bubble bum is great because it doesn't take up as much room as the hard seats, but can only be used for kids older the six I think, it actually goes by hight and weight I think so check before using.

You have 2x ISOFIX in the back as well, both outside seats.

Once they're in booster seats your fine, you just giggle them around until all the seat belts are in securely, then the kids kinda settle and rub shoulders well, till a fight break out so yeah, about 10 minutes.

As long as 10 mins my two it's almost instant.

Slightly off topic, so I apologise, but Can anyone recommend a good Isofix seat for my two and a half year old...

I'm told that not all Isofix seats will fit different types of cars...

This seems a bit illogical to me, surely they should be universal!?...

Cybex Pallas 2 is one of the safest around and not that expensive. If you can get your kid to accept the cushion then it's great and you can use it all the way up to 36kg (or around 12 years old) as the back expands and then can be used as a booster seat.

Just bought Britax KIDFIX XP SICT available from Mothercare stores. New for 2014. Expensive but good reports. Will last from 4-11 years.

Cheers guys...

I got my 3 year old the Recaro Monza Nova 2 its a seatfix system so you don't need the isofix base. Just fits straight into the car's isofix points. They are classed by child weight.
