Yeti 2.0 Tdi 110ps 4x4 Performance

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I hope you are well.

Just putting the general feelers out at this stage but can anyone help with what the general feel/performance is of the 110bhp 4x4 Yeti?

How does it feel day to day and at motorway speeds? Does it need that 6th gear? What mpg are people getting average driving....

Kindest Regards

I have the 140ps 4x4 tdi yeti. Great pulling power from low revs, goes round corners like the clappers. Average mpg 40.5

I have the 170ps 4x4 tdi yeti. Great pulling power from low revs, goes round corners like the clappers. Average mpg 39.5

I am happy with my 110 4x4 S.  On A and B roads the performance is really very nippy.  On the motorway it's really easy to cuise at an indicated 80mph and it will reach well over a 100 if you need to get out of an awkward situation.  Obviously acceleration over 80 is a bit sluggish but not a problem.  I bought it to have a good winter capable car.  (Of course since buying it we have had no winters!)  If I want summer time speed I use my Jaguar and for local short journeys I use my Fabia.

What do you mean "does it need 6th. gear?", I use it all the time from about 30 up.

Mine does mostly motorway driving and averages about 46 mpg indicated - probably 41 actually - never checked!

I think the  110 4x4 S is about £2,400 less than the cheapest 140 and £3,000 less than the cheapest 170.

Thanks for all your replies so far guys...

Norry - Sorry mate, I was under the impression that the 110bhp has a 5 speed box, on the motorways does it feels like it needs a 6th? is it working hard...

Thanks again

It has a 6 speed box and pulls well in 6th. from about 50 but will hold 6th. easily from quite low speeds.

Ah!! Good news, thanks Norry...Sorry for the confusion.

I thought the top gear was the same whether it was a 5 or 6 speed.

Just sold my Elegance 110 4x4 but was very happy with the performance and it averaged over the 40,000 miles 45mpg fill to fill.

The engine is physically the same as the 140 but with a change of factory mapping, a slightly different ratio 6 speed gearbox and smaller front brakes.

.., I was under the impression that the 110bhp has a 5 speed box, ...

That's the 2wd 110 TDi which has the 5 speed box.

My 110 has just turned two years old, and averaging +/- 52 mpg (on the maxidot).

I don't hang about but stick to the speed limits and short shift to get up to speed. I spend quiet some time on gravel tracks as well due to involvement with motorsport, so I guess that's not too bad.

Loaded up coming back from Wales Rally GB on A roads it clocked at 72 mpg + when I got home

But there again, I'm old school in doing things gently, having been brought up on fuel saving techniques. I'm always thinking far ahead (trying anyway :giggle: ),  and driving to maintain speed.

We are on our 2nd 110 yeti. The first was 2wd 5 spd and now a 4x4 110 6spd. We towed our caravan with both no problem. 2wd was slightly quicker as its lighter but 6 spd better for motorway. Great engine with good fuel economy. plenty Torque for towing !
