Ordered an S3

Featured Replies

End of 2015 looks likely. I will order probably but for now the S3 is a cracking little car.

Just added B&O, non smoking pack and interior light pack. Also found out heated seats are standard. Unlike the RS 4/5.

What do you get in the non smoking pack?? I just have visions of paying Audi to remove the Ashtrays and Lighter.... :D

  • Picked it up today. Really impressed actually, reminds me of the B8 S4 in many ways but with more tech due to the options it has. It's no RS but its certainly a great small family car. I'll get some

  • Same reason he's had an S4, S5 and RS5?

Yes the above gets removed and replaced with 12v sockets. No cost option though.

Plastic bung instead if a lighter in the 12v socket.

Also, tested the A45 AMG today and it felt tame compared to the S3. It honestly felt like my Scirocco. Even the dealer was less than impressed. They thought something could have been wrong with it. Either way I walked away from it.

Probably a wise choice.

Hopefully thousands cheaper and more spec by the looks of it.

  • Author

Yes quite a few thousand cheaper and an extra 7k worth of spec.

Nice one mate! Be sure to post up some pics

Sounds very nice, and well spec'd.

We had 6 delivered on a transporter today, all seem to have big spec, customers seem to like adding a few bits.

Slightly OT, but we have taken deposits on 3 S1's today.

The S1 looks like a decent motor. I'm going to try and hang on to the S3 until the RS 3 though. Or next S5. We shall see.

S3 sounds nice.... I hope it's a good car for you!

One I've always been interested in for sure.

Looking forward to hearing more when it arrives!

Cheers,

Ste.

Cracking, looking at pic 5 I'm betting it doesn't fit in the garage, I can't get my Leon in mine, these new builds have silly narrow garage openings.

It fits fine. I had my RS 5 in the garage and that was very wide. I've even got room for my bike in the garage again.

I must say as a complete package and with the extensive options this one has it is one of the best cars Audi makes for a smll family. If not the best.

Looks brilliant. Can't wait for Saturday :)

You'll love it. I've driven the entire Audi range and this S3 is right up there.

The S-tronic box is lovely.

S4 is a good car but a bit long in the tooth now. I'd honestly go S3 over S4 now. New A4/5 end of this year or early next which will move things on. The S3 has some of the interface and tech of the current A6/7. You have to spec it though, luckily mine was specced this way.

Unless you need the bigger boot which the S4 offers.

Very much appreciate the comments and feedback matie.... but as you stated.... the bigger boot clinches it for now.

But, for sure, i'll monitor the situation before making a decision...

Out of interest, what happens with a stage 1 remap? Am I right in thinking the S3 has the 2.0 TSI engine with the K04 turbo? I was talking to one of the sales staff in Capitol Newport who was telling me about the forthcoming hot Leon cupra which I think uses the same drivetrain?

Well, a stage 1 map gets you about 310bhp on the 8p version

of the S3 with the TFSI engine (same as mine). But thats only starting out with 265bhp

I think now the S3 starts out with 300bhp so I'd imagine you'd get closer to

340bhp on the newer TSI version mapped to Stage 1.

As much as I'm loathed to say it, The S tronic cars handle the added power better as the

clutch can cope with more torque than the manual cars can and is rated higher.

Still, in any case, that's a fair bit of go from a 2.0 with a stage 1 map and no other mods.

The real question really is APR? Shark? Revo? etc

That's more than interesting....

Ahh you got the orange velvet interior and mono pur pack.

  • Author

I got a stack of options on this one.

Stage 1 8V S3 equals 370bhp.
