front suspension clunking

as the title says, when i go over bumps i often get a clunk either side.

went investigating today and found when the wheel is off the ground and unsprung weight the cup sits inside (pic 1) but when its under weight it sits proud, whats the cause of this, is it normal and if not what do i need?

did you check both wheels?

most probably it is the shock absorber or the top suspension strut rubber bush.

Both are identical..... Is it an easy thing to check?

Is it just a case of dropping the strut out and inspecting?

arb has nothing to do with his problem.

Not my arb. Had it pop out before but defo more serious this time. Hoping to get round to it maybe later
