grinding noise brakes

Featured Replies

Fun suddenly developed grinding noise from brakes which is pretty much constant.

Any advice on freeing them up as I'm sure itseems more to do with the flooding around here as it is constant not under load.

Sounds like it could just be a thin layer of surface rust on the disc. A good drive around with a lot of brake usage should clear it. I have this problem with my felicia because it is stood a lot, not being used often.

Could also be a bit of stone/grit stuck between pad and disk.

Or maybe sliding caliper might be sticking because guide pin gaiters have failed, and caused guide pins to get full of dirt/crud, or loose lubricant, or even corrode.

May be a sticky caliper sliding pin jack it up and tale wheel off and have a look..
