Split or sell as a whole?

Featured Replies

Contemplating selling my car, no i was wondering if it would be beneficial too me to split may car and return back to standard or sell it as a modified car.

Now a few pros & cons

If i split it will i end up getting more money back? But i will have to buy some standard parts to replace. Also, will take a little longer time

If i sell as a whole, i believe that you dont always get your money back, as upgrading parts doesnt affect the resale value much?

Quick spec;

2005 Fabia vRS, 160K miles, some service history, 2 keys.

SeatSport FMIC,

Hybrid Allard turbo

Custom Exhuast system

OMP steering wheel & Boss kit

Corbeau Bucket seats with subframes & runners.

EGR delete

Custom intake

Now could someone give me a rough price on whats the car worth, with the mods on it, without them on it and what the mods are roughly worth on there own?

Any help is much appreciated,

Will

This is a post about Freedom membership for selling etc etc.

Keep should be an option in the Thread Title :) sounds like an awesome car!

Sorry lee, didnt realise it ended  :giggle:

Just renewed now.

If not in a rush to sell, sell as is for what you would be happy to let her go for.

If unsold after x weeks, start listing things separately with p/x on items to save you from buying new ones :)

if you still have the standard parts, and can swap them back yourself then I would do that and sell the upgraded parts.

The modified car will appeal to a smaller audience than a standard one and as such may not be worth much, if anything more than the standard one.

Reverting to standard and selling the upgrades on their own should yield a larger return.

If you have to pay labour for someone to put the standard parts back, then that may well cost more than what you could get so its not worth doing in this case.

I dont have most standard parts, so would need to buy or p/x. And yeah thats what i thought, the modified scene is a lot harder to appeal to than just a standard car.

And i wouldnt have to pay for labour as id do it myself as i built it myself, so that would be okay, just time and effort.

Another option would be part ex your performance parts for standard and cash your way mate.

Put some pics up of her.

I'd be interested in some bits with part ex or outright sale.

What Joel says.

Advertise it whole and see if it sells

If not advertise parts on a part-ex swap basis and sell the standard car that it returns to.

either way i reckon if you make £3000 you'd be well
