AC installation

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

i was thinking of finding a complete AC unit from a felicia and fit it in my favorit if i get it for the right price...

my question is.. what would i need to install it?

some information:

My favorit has a 1.3 mpi engine with a power steering pump. would i have to sacrifice the power steering or will i be able to fit both?

also i am using the 1.3mpi's harness so maybe its a plug and play unit?

you would need to find the brackets that hold the alternator and ac pump on from a 1.3 felicia with aircon, also to fit the heat exchanger unit you need to cut a big t shaped hole in the front bulkhead in the centre behind the centre console, the wiring is fairly simple, but again ideally you would need the ecu from an aircon model to make it work

Hmm i think i already have that bracket since i have the power steering pump so it wouldnt be a problem.

but it looks like its going to be impossible then XD

to find a normal felicia that has a standard 1.3mpi engine is already hard let alone one with aircon.

I was thinking that maybe i could find an ac unit from a felicia with a carb engine because i have seen some running around.

i will keep on the look out just in case would be a cool project.

wanted to get an idea of the job involved to fit it

Thanks a lot TeflonTom :)

I have done a ac conversion to a felicia 1.6 but was a 1.3 your best bet is to find a hole donor car as theres loads different from a normal 1.6 I had to cut a hole in the bulkhead for air con heater box. I found the engine rad different and fan power steering pipes diffrent engine loom and charging/starter loom and the heater channels in the dash diffrent required full dash swap this can be done and has by me and doing the same conversion to my fun so see if theres a donnor car that way your have all whats needed amd take lpads off photos.....

yes i know what you mean when i restored my favorit i had bought a donor car that had a fuel injection engine (1.3mpi) and power steering so i ended up changing the entire  wiring loom and gauges (kept the favorit dashboard though) and hot/cold blower unit to reduce the amount of rewiring. I even used the felicia's switches.

as i stated in the other post, finding a scrap/donor car 1.3 or 1.6 that has AC is unfortunately almost impossible and if i find, it will not be cheap hence not worth it for me atm (still studying).

I will still keep on the lookout so that if one comes up for the right price i might consider it.

So far it seems like its semi complicated but nothing that i cant do myself especially if i have a donor car and take lots of photos for reference.

Thanks a lot :)

p.s.  is there a post in this forum on how to fix the felicia's gauges? because the two counters showing how much kilometer's i have done (the total kilometers and the one that can be reset to get the total kilometers for a trip) stopped working and would love to fix them..
