I'm back after 2 years away!

Featured Replies

Two years ago I part ex'd my Octavia vRS after 5 years for a Hyundai i40 saloon. I must say the i40 was a good car with lots of kit, but it wasn't a great car, and it wasn't a Skoda. So now with an 11 month old and another on the way I decided that it was now or never to change the car and get something more practical so I decided on a Superb estate.

And so after much searching and cars being sold as soon as i rang up to enquire (I must say the estates don't seem to stay on the forecourt for long) I got hold of a 9 month old Superb estate greenline in silver, with only 5K on the clock. The car came directly from Skoda's head office. It is the entry level S trim, but I got such a great deal on it I could not refuse.

First impressions? I absolutely love the car! It is so nice to be back in a Skoda again. I still cant quite get over the size of the thing but how small it feels to drive. It may not have the sat nav, the dual zone and cornering headlights I had on my i40 but these are just gadgets. It's going to be the family bus for many years to come and will be used to commute into London (hence why I wanted the greenline with its stop start) so it is ideal for just that. I have already fitted a spare wheel and rubber floor mats and it is getting the rear windows tinted next week as I cant stand those tacky stick on sun shades.

I will be looking soon for a dog guard to fit to it and some roof bars so any recommendations? Also as I am new to the superb club, are there any little tricks I need to know about like their is on the Octavia?

Welcome back. The S spec is seen in some parts as 'poverty spec' but I love mine as it has all the things I want and more, as you say, other stuff are just gadgets.

Welcome svend, In the posh club now!

I recommend you give it a realy good seeing to with some p2 polish and c2v2 sealer, keep her looking good for ages.

I use thule roofbars but Lidl had some recently that some on here use and say are amazing value for money.

For roof racks, I have a Whispbar by Prorack (in Australia), overseas I think it's by Yakima

Looks great and has no road noise
