anyone else up for this

Featured Replies

Seems like a good idea to be repeated....

See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying

Have forwareded this on, good idea.

Hmmmm good idea, I might put this onto a leaflet and go round flyer in cars ;)

Hmm, but Esso is 2ppl cheaper than anyone else in Reading, including supermarkets

Hmmmm and where do supermarkets get their petrol from  Didn't this go round last time there was a big hike in fuel prices?

Chris

its a chain email but based on fuel prices total dross sorry, if you fall for this old trick then I feel sorry for you, BP & Esso are normally more expensive anyway LOL especiially in Birmingham. Also like Chris says don't some of the supermarkets use BP & Esso as suppliers

won't work. As said before about the Supermarkets, and also each other. They all collect the raw petrol from each other at the refinery (BP,Esso,Texaco, etc will all use Shell Haven in Essex for example) and just have their own fillers where they add their additives before it gets into the tankers.

and being picky, the email states BP are owned by Esso which is wrong.

the best way to hit the petrol companies is to teach everyone how to drive more economically and walk the shorter distances that they usually drive

Or another idea flyer all the 9am School run drivers

stop the lazy journeys and drive slower

Give everyone free Push bikes

you could also getta better MPG car or electric car

hehehe

That message is far to long for 75% of people to bother reading. It wont work, because people a)cant be bothered reading it b)cant be bothered making the effort to go somewhere else.

EXACTLY.

This same exact email came around last year too.

The problem in the UK is not the suppliers - its 75% tax !!

PMSL, this has been around for ages, probably 5 or more years!

another idea that i just thought of, (and could be crap, but hey) when you buy fuel dont buy anything from the shop (crisps choccy etc). the mark up

on fuel is very marginal apparently so most of thier profit comes from the actual shop purchases. if all of a sudden that stops they may have to lower fuel prices to get people into the shop. i'm writing as i'm thinking and cant decide if thats rubbish or not!

I'd imagine that if you do that you'll put the smaller stations out of business, but the supermarkets won't be affected as they'll just add a penny to the price of a tin of baked beans and recoup the loss ;)

The only way to get the government to wake up is to blockade the ports again, but that's not very convenient for me as I need my car to get to work, and I need to get to work so I can earn money to pay my bills.....

Chris

There is no answer ultimately. The gov have us by the short and curlies. If you want to use a car, you'll have to pay. Cant see any other way to make them change their minds. And I cant see the English having a "france style" demonstration somehow can you? :D
