Lineout from New Columbus main unit (Harman MIB)

Featured Replies

Has anyone seen info how to get line out from Columbus main unit (Harman Automotive - MIB Main Unit)? I have one with Canton, and would need to have lineout, or in worst case speaker signal, but since mine is with Canton, there is only optical MOST out connected to Canton Amp. I have Bitone signal processor and have hooked it up it spekaer signals from Canton Amp and it is not quite working as preferred (first of all it has 11 channels and Bitone has only 8). So does anyone know how the pins are connected in the new Quadlock and if there is a way to get lineout from it, does it need coding with VCDS?

There is no line output, its all digital fibre optic to the amp which has its own DSP. The amp only has fibre input and speaker outputs.

I know, but in the old Columbus you could get the lineout, from the unit, just connecting right pins from main unit. I wonder if there really is no possibility to get the lineout from new one and if not, then what needs to be coded to get speaker level out from mainunit (4 channels)?

The new Columbus only shares the name with the old one, thats it, Other than that its a totally different system made by a different company, so why it was called the same I don't know.  I am familiar with the old Columbus, and the old analogue line outputs.

It is possible to have Columbus without Canton so would assume there is a line out connection. Dont know which connections though

I have a columbus without canton. and it looks like you are missing the brown connector.   i believe that's the speaker output.

Thanks, that is not the problem (I have already purchased a full new Quadlock adapter), but the thing is how to code with VCDS to enable that speaker out.
