What tyres and where?

Featured Replies

Had a good drive thgis weekend in my Octy 4x4...I feel I could do with some new tyres...the Dunlops are a little low on tread and seem a bit skittish.

What tyres would you guys suggest...standard alloys 205/55R16?

I know that Goodyear Eagle F1's are very good but Toyo Proxes T1-R are also rated. Any other suggestions.

Also I need somewhere to get them in Manchester...I do usually go to 'Dave Sheldon Tyres' but they always seemed a bit too pricey...I used to pay

Thanks a lot for that matey.

got Toyo Proxes T1-R's on the back of my vRS and will be putting a pair on the front asap.

www.mytyres.co.uk or .com do them failry cheap.

I have the F1's on the Octy and the Toyo T1-R's on the Ibiza and I rate both very highly so go for the cheapest or the ones you like the look of. I got the T1-R's from mytyres and arranged fitting through the website at a local branch of Hi-Q.

Nothing wrong with Magnatec, good quality oil and exceeds VW's standards (printed somewhere on the back of the bottle).

Depends on what you want from your tyres - all-out performance coming at a cost in winter, or a bit more of a compromise?

I've had F1s before and have the Toyos on my FRP.... they do seem to be about as good as each other, so when I got the F1s, I chose them on price for the Octy ;)
