Im Looking For A Fmic For My Vrs Oct. Please Advise.

Your octy already has a FMIC - its just a smaller one than you're thinking of ;)

No...it's a SMIC. ;)

FMIC:

Forge - Forge/JBS

ABD - Impossible Peformance

Pro Alloy - Pro Alloy/Jabbasport

Allard - Allard

Adrian.

At the risk of inflaming another mud slinging match I cat see how its not a FMIC? Surely the fact its mounted at the front of the car, parallell with the axles makes it a FMIC?

Shouldnt' the larger ones from Forge etc. be catergorised as CFMIC - Central Front Mounted I/C

I think side mounted should be considered like an F1 car's radiators.

Know what you mean but I'm only going on the terms that the manufacturers/tuners use.

Allard also make a stonkingly good one, Ive got one & its FANTASTIC !!!

smic as its at the side of the car not the middle and fmic as its at the very fron of the car.

i gave one on my 4x4 and it doeds make a difference, mine is from jabba. follow the links to them for more info :)

its a side mounted intercooler as its postion is to the side of the engine..SMIC... and front mounted one is infront of the engine...FMIC....

whats so hard about that?

CMFIC indeed...smart ar5e...

Joel,

now you say it relates to the engine it makes complete sense - someone had told me it related to its position on the car....... haddnt they... ScoobyChris ;)

I Need 1 Thats Going To Suit About 300+ Bhp. Which Sites Could I Find These On.

I Need 1 Thats Going To Suit About 300+ Bhp. Which Sites Could I Find These On.

Would say all those I listed are suitable.

As for sites/links.....Forge and Impossible Performance have the FMICs listed.

Allard are generally custom job but they have done a couple now.

Jabbasports site hasn't got the FMIC listed but they have done at least 10 cars that I know of.;)

Best to call either Allard or Jabba for details.

Cheers Lads Ill Let U Know How I Get On.

what are your plans to get ove 300bhp?

i know what my plans are for my car and hope to exceed 300bhp by a fair margin, its expensive but should prove a lot of fun :)

http://www.allardturbosport.co.uk/

as I said thouroughly recomend them

Leeboys had one from them as well.

Lloyd Allard has all the dims so whilst its a custom build it can be built without seeing the car, they also fit for reosnable money, will need the car for a day

im planning a turbo by garrett big injectors, an ecu with emerald but stuck on the intercooler. but that shouldnt be to hard now.

good effort, sounds the same as my plans, have you seen the work that JBS do?

they have done a few of these convertions i think and have it all ready :)

Why the change to Emerald? Can't you just remap the standard ecu or you looking to have more features?

Bigger injectors will help get more power out too :)

I have just heard back from emerald they told me that getting the standard one remaped is the way to go.

that looks the job. Think ill go with allard. cheers lee

JBS are running 450bhp on their demo Octy which uses the Forge FMIC. I'm running the same FMIC and there's probably some pics in my gallery. I'm pretty sure that JBS can supply these from stock.

Track car in Germany with 510 bhp at the wheels with the Forge
