Didn't take the Chinese long...

...to knock off cruise kits, did it?

There are even cheaper ones too. This appeals to the northerner in me who wants cruise but can't afford 90 quid for the few times a year I go anywhere with the car to justify it.

Also can't work out if that's their version of both looms in one, or if it's just stalk->bulkhead. Those look kinda like ECU pins.

Anyone fancy taking a punt?

Didn't take long you say

Only about 13 yrs or so lol

True ;)

But considering how long it takes for one of them to spot a trend, then all of a sudden they're all at it!

I'm feeling a treat coming my way. Might buy two to pick the stalks apart and see what the quality is like

I Vote for V8 Dave

As Edmund Blackadder said, clucking bell...

I just tracked down the manufacturers in Shenzen and ordered one direct for £17 quid. Will wait the usual 6 weeks for delivery and fit it when it gets here.

If you all donate a quid each, I can afford to replace the car when it catches fire and burns to the ground whilst I'm taking pictures for the how to :)

+1 Dave should go Chinese first ;)

I can't see how it would go wrong, being from china doesn't necessarily mean it's rubbish, it's a just a collection of switches after all, all the intelligent functionanility is done by the ecu anyhow. If it turns out not to wok then it's only 30 notes down the Kermit.

Agreed, I've had my fair share of good kit along with all the tat imaginable from China. I'm more interested in the quality of the parts, and particularly the wiring and connectors.

If they turn out to be OK, I might start flogging them on eBay ;)

The better question might be - how long will the indicator part of the stalk keep functioning for?

I have just replaced mine after 250k miles

if its coming from Shenzen Auto company?

I got my new door module of them last year, and its perfect, looks as good as the broken one i took out.

AS said, chinese copies can be fine, just maybe not as rugged long term....

'looks as good as the broken one' ha!

* Clarification *

The unit as a whole appeared as good as the oem one i removed, which had stopped working correctly ;)

Also that Cruise control stalk is the newer revision stalk which is easier to use.

So a great deal..
