  • Superskoda is way too expensive and a dark chrome rather than normal chrome. I reckon it'd look a bit odd since it's not chrome in the octavia. Vw part number is 5G0 837 599 A And you'll need a t6

  • Just off the phone with the Western VW at Fort Kinnaird in Edinburgh £10 each for the part. Quoted the part number and there was no issue. They'll phone me as soon as the part comes in.

There's one on eBay for £5.98. No screw in the picture though, can you use the existing key screw with the chrome part?

I got mine off ebay for £5.98 I don't think mine pictured the screw so probably same seller. It came with the screw though so no worries.

Any chance of sharing the Ebay link?

Thanks aldouk

Great have ordered :)

Got mine from same seller, but no screws. Found two in an old laptop that do the job perfectly, so no biggie.

Edit - I say "two", because I bought two!

I used the screw that holds the original plastic part with no problem...

Arrived and fitted. It's the little touches that make all the difference.

Just about to order 2 of these for my Octavia coming March, am I right to assume the Rapid Spaceback will use the same key, in other words can I order 4 to do the wifes as well?

There is no option under the rapid on superskoda but when I test drove both the key looked the same.

Thanks

Rapid space back uses the old key design. Or certainly the 65 plate I have from the dealer today does.

I just rang Skoda to check as I jumped the gun and ordered 4 anyway. They changed the key very recently so any new Rapid comes with the same key so this Mod will work :) happy days...

Luckily the Mrs put the rest of her keys on hers and I hate having anything so will be easy to tell apart.
