Blower not working

Featured Replies

Just removed my climatronic blower using instructions here.  Most excellent. I did it without removing the glovebox.  I have the motor some contact cleaner and it’s working again. A slight whine now, so will order another assuming it is in its way out, but the swap is very quick and easy.

  • I recently have had the same problem with a Skoda Superb Estate 170 Elegance (Heater not blowing air on any setting) I managed to rectify this fault very quickly after doing a bit of internet googling

Same problem for me - 2012 Superb Estate Elegance Petrol 4x4. Thanks to these posts I had the motor out, freed up with some WD40 and back here writing this post 10 mins later. Mine was just a bit stif

  • I bloody love 💕 you.  I didn’t even need WD40.

Fantastic information guys, I just fixed mine (Skoda Superb 2011) in about 10 mins.  There wasn't any insulation cover to remove under the glove box (maybe gone missing a long time ago?) or screws to undo, just pulled down on a little retaining lug next to the arrow and turned clockwise to unscrew.  Didn't need to remove the wires, it just dropped down (with a bit of wriggling) and I could turn it by hand and squirt WD40 at it.  Powered it up while still dangling and it worked fine so refitted and job done.  Must've saved about £500 at a dealer.

You are a legend sanmart mate.

Proper ball ache dropping the motor (lug and the loom)  but it worked.

Wd40'd the spindle, job done and sorted. I assume not enough go to turn the fan. It wasn't tight at all  but it worked. How long, who knows  but play by ear.

Have a drink fella. Forum's great stuff.

Superb 170 from new  2013, .so yes 11 years of no ball ache bar this.

Really appreciate the post.

Just that lug on the casing and the siting due to the loom on the bulkhead. Hopefully just me and the ball ache. It was ****  and yes I would take that lug off if it as it fowled the loom in the corner on the bulkhead.

Still you guys, keep at it, ball ache on your back and the sill but fingers crossed, it will keep going.

Corrosion, not much at all, but obviously  just enough not to turn. Not tight at all. Give it a squirt and watch it kick in.

Cheers, fella. Happy days. 13 years from new that Supetb. Proper good tool.

FYI, other motors Occy Mk3 plus A6 C7 bitutbo. No ball ache at all. Long live VAG

Previous motor Leon cupra, 14 years of sound motoring. From new (2004 to 2019). Nothing.

Job done and bread and butter motors for the real people.

Another happy customer here 2011 Superb Elegance DSG combi. Motor packed up weeks ago and it’s been cold. Only saving grace is heated seats all around heated front as well as rear screen and a microfibre to wipe the mist off the doors. Managed to break the arrow alignment tab on mine it came out with a twist. But it was a pain trying to ease it past whatever was stopping it coming down into the footwell. Copious amounts of GT85 spray later I felt it moves better but not totally free. Back in the car and I have a heater again. That you so much to all who posted and @Sanmart for assisting with the free fix. I would say it was water ingress in my case as there was some signs of it around the motor casing once removed. Any ideas where it’s coming from and how to deal with it?
Where are people ordering replacement blowers from?
