Windscreen washer jets

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm not fully satisfied with the Octy 3's windscreen washer jets...the vaporization is nice but at higher speeds it's not a benefit.

This is my video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pt44NHbb8VA

A lot of water lands at the bottom of the windscreen where the wipers can't clean it and then it comes up.

Maybe it's not a big problem in the UK because you are sitting on the other side :D

I tried to adjust the jet higher (no tool needed), but it did not help.

I liked the Golf mk5's jets (sprayed in V shape without such vaporization).

So anybody knows something about compatible jets...?

It should be possible to adjust them more than that ....

I adjusted the jet to the possible highest position but it did not help.

It was a little bit better at higher speeds but in the city the jet sprayed the water over the windscreen...

See your dealer and see if it's a duff jet that's been fitted, they may be able to adjust it more than what you can.

Hi I know this ages old now but wondered how you adjusted the jet? Mine is currently spraying over onto the roof and leaves a mucky patch at the bottom of my windscreen, so I'll need to try and adjust down a little. Cheers

It's very easy just use your fingers/fingernails. :)

Ha Ha. OK. That'll do it. Cheers.

The wipers need that programmed extra delayed wipe for the over spray

The fan sprays fitted to the O3 are much better than the V jets. We just got a LeonFR for SWMBO and it's fitted with V jets, they are rubbish and there is a thread on the Leon forum where loads of Leon owners are retro fitting Skoda fan sprays!

My mk2 Leon had the fan jets, they were awesome. Seat have been cutting every corner they can on the mk3 and used the inferior V jets which were a big step backwards but probably saved them 30p on a 21k car :)
