Bumper must be modified below the headlights because the FL headlights are different shape than the Pre-FL lights. That requires some plastic welding. Also you need the bumper grills, DRL's, Fog Lights, plastic brackets to hold the DRL's and foglights, headlight washers. Basically you can't use any of the Pre-FL bumper parts. Also if you want to get the DRL's work like in FL you need to get a newer CECM and do some wiring.

Sorry to bring up an old thread..don't even know whether you're still active but I've been looking at doing this recently, just wondered what you mean by a VECM with regards to wiring up the DRL's from the facelift bumper going onto a pre facelift car.

Central Electronics Control Module from FL RS is required for enabling the DLR's in factory style. You can also use fog light wiring (+resistors) and code them with VCDS to be used as DRL's. The problem is then that you have to build the foglight wiring and relaying from scratch as i did (not very OEM style to do it, but worked for me).

Did you have to change the slam panel to facelift?
