Changing to facelift model

Featured Replies

Hi all got a VRS estate mk2 2006. Now then I have bought from work the mk2 facelift bumper, lights, and grills. Will it be a straight change or will I need to adapt parts etc and change wiring loom for the head lights?? Help please :)

It has been reported that the bonnet is the same, it is the grill that is different.

There was a thread on here a while back with a picture of a silver pre-FL that had had a FL grill retro-fitted, I'm sure it was a straight swap, although the clearance to the bumper was wrong and the grill had to be modified in the end.

The bonnet is the same. FL just has this 1Z0853480A plastic extension that holds the grill from the bottom of it.

I'm seriously considering having a punt at this myself, just change the front bumper and add all the lights etc.

Not really. I'd do it like JaVa^ has done:

This is awesome. Pre-FL lights with FL everything else at the front. Love it.

Yes equally as good looking...

To be fair the OP did ask for the FL front end which will require front wings.

The half pre-FL, half FL still looks great though.

Yes it is all possible...

My car (MY 2007) is transformed from pre-FL in to FL

All from outside and allmost all from inside (have still old instrument cluster but this is a project now in phase to swap it to a FL white instrument cluster).

Be interested in the results of swapping the clusters...  I had thought this was not possible.
