Hello all,

Im new the the forum, this is my first post. Im so impressed by the fabia vrs that I have decided like all you peeps to buy one. Found a crazy cheap quote from an internet company - micronet based in nottingham. Its so cheap I wonder if something is wrong, thought I might get the opinion of all u good people! They say it is a UK supplied car, full uk spec and all the rest, the prices they sent me for the spec car I'm after is below:

SKODA FABIA 1.9 TDI 130PS RS PD 5 dr Hatchback

play it against your local dealer and see what they come up with.

seems like a great price

And the company is?????

i think its micronet

The companies full name is Micronet Showroom price is an on the road price apparently but I can't understand how this is possible if it is from uk dealers based on the profit margin!!?

yeah it just seems too good to be true

Maybe a Pre Reg?

Do a search on Google for Micronet, I'm certain I've heard bad stories about that company - I may be wrong but it rings a bell...

To be fair dealers dont really make any money on the sale of a single car, most dealers will sell at cost in some cases. It's the marketing targets that pay the money. So that sort of price is most likely near to cost for the dealer, the dealer however will recieve

yeah i does make sense! :)

it does seem a good deal and will be interesting to see how the deal goes.

I guess it could be a european import.

If in doubt and you think it's fishy walk away!

I think that link says it all really, sounds like a company of questionable values. I reckon a dealer is the way forward might even be cheaper in the long run by the sounds of it! Anyone got any idea what dealer price I might get a BM vrs with cruise, sideairbags and esp RRP is 13460?

Thus the moral of my first post is:

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is!

Steer clear Robbo, it isn't worth the bother.:( Might be worth using the price as a haggling tool with some dealers though...:)

or try some of the other internet companies for a more realistic price before you head to the dealers. I used www.drivethedeal.com and they were very good.

I'm not looking to use them. Just found it on the internet !!! for the guy in this thread

This is the site in question: http://www.micronetshowroom.com/cat...BIA&UID=675415+

This is cheap. I too, wonder what the catch is. Why not give them a ring and ask a few questions. I thought the Fabia vRS WITH options was a factory order!!?? LOL LOL

Yep - AVOID and PLAGUE spring to mind! Saw a similar offer from them when I was looking to buy. Again the members on here at the time reported similar findings. Tins.co.uk or drivethedeal.com would be the two internet-based offers I'd try. Quite a few people on here I know have bought from both.

Steve

Autofinders are good too - www.autofinders.ltd.uk - ask Dave Fox on here who bought from them.

Micronet have an absolutely horrendous reputation - mainly to do with taking deposits, then failing to deliver for months on end, then often delivering the wrong spec or colour or something else.

They are too cheap to do a decent job. AVOID!

Drivethedeal are far better. And Autofinders cheaper than DtD if you don't mind pre-reg.
