Paint Contamination - Tree Sap?

Featured Replies

I've been giving my wife's much neglected metallic black Arosa a good wash, clean and polish. I've noticed that on the roof, bonnet and the upper surfaces of the bumpers there is some contamination that looks like small blisters on the clear coat. Am I right in thinking this is tree sap? If not, what else could it be? Next question of course is what is the best way to remove it? It will be well stuck on as the car hasn't had a good wash and polish in years.

It does sound like tree sap to me.

A decent claying will remove it no problem.

Try the G3 clay mitt from Halfords

did the other halfs yellow car yesterday with it as hers was all tar

spotted on the rear as well as sap.

Paintwork is smooth like glass now.

As said....a Clay Bar or Clay Mitt will see it off John

Thanks chaps. I have some Bilt Hamber clay so I'll give it a go.
