Help with brake pads/discs!

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

Probably another stupid question but do you need to get vehicle specific brakes and pads for your car?

Or does it not matter as long as they are the right size, i.e.e 312/256mm

And do you need to get front and rear specifics? Or will 256mm front discs and pads, fit on the back (if you have the upgraded calipers/carriers)

Any idea of the best place to get some/what brand?

Thanks in advance.

I just realised I posted this in Octavia and not Fabia...

Eurp Car Parts or Carparts4less

search by reg number, and you should get exactly what you need.

Pagid discs are recommended alot round the Octy forum... would imagine its the same with Fabia :)

and Pagid or DS2500 Pads get a lot of praise.

Topic moved to fabia.

the discs are vehicle specific yes, there are literally hundreds of different types for all makes of cars, so you don't just buy any of pair of discs to go on there, same with pads too, you need to get the specific type for the calipers you have.. Best thing to do is visit a local motor parts supplier and they can look them up from the reg number.

Are your front discs 312s or 288s? If they are 312s up front, you'll need the pads for the correct calipers/ carriers and discs. AFAIK 312s weren't factory fitted.
