A little help needed.

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have had a Skoda superb now for one week,I'm trying to set it all up and have run into a couple of issues, not sure if they are issues per se or just me.

1,my car has a DSG gearbox,I find the stop start system very good however, when I park the car and put the selector into the "P" position the engine switches off,is this normal?.

2,The manual says that after I press the lock button on the remote if I press it once more the mirrors should automatically fold in,I have tried this but it doesn't happen,am I doing something wrong?.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

Many thanks.

Dave.

Hi Dave, and welcome along.

Can't help on point 1 as I only have a manual - someone else with a DSG will be able to answer that.

On point 2, it's not another physical "press" of the button, you merely continue to hold it down. If before this, any of the windows are open, they will all close automatically then the mirrors will fold.

The same will happen in reverse i.e. hold down the unlock button and all the windows will open. The mirrors, however, won't fold back out. They will fold out when the engine is started.

Make sure the mirror adjuster (inside near to electric window buttons) is not set to fold otherwise it won't work at all.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi there. Yes if start stop is active and battery charged enough. When you come to a halt and selected park it should have stopped engine with foot on brake and it will stay off in park, even if you remove foot from brake. Once battery voltage drops to a set level then it will re start. I use this feature in longer queues, as hate sitting with brake lights dazzling car behind.

You have to keep the locked button pressed for a few seconds till they start folding i find.

Same here as Honeymonster.

Yes mine all operates as Honeymonster, just extra note - if you have sun roof fitted, when on vent(just rear edge raised) it will auto close with windows and mirrors BUT when fully open you have to keep button on key pressed until fully closed - safety device apparently.

My favourite is auto rain closing. If windows are open and it starts raining, windows (and sunroof) close when the rain sensor senses rain. Enabled in maxidot set-up.
