18" BBS CH Fitted On My Rs(pics)

Featured Replies

pic1 pic2 Too bad the wheels seem to have the wrong ET. I feel a little stupid I didn't check that before I bought them. Assumed they had the right offset since the guy that sold them had them on his RS. However, IMO, they do look good on the car.

Nice wheel's -- not so sure about the way they seem to stick out at the back - or is that an illusion ?

What size are they ? -- it look's like you have lowered your car - are you getting any clearance problem's ?

It's not an illusion. they have the worng ET/offset. Having it fixed soon hopefully. They are 18*8.5" with 225/40 Dunlop sp 9000. The car is lowered ~20mm with H&R springs. No clearence problems so far...

Ah - my Kahn's are 8x18 -- also 225/40 rubber -- about as wide as you would want to go sensibly I think.

Still look's good tho

The H&R springs lower 35mm on a std Octavia and ~20mm on an RS but it did get ~25mm-30mm lower when I measured the rideheight before and after. The 35mm lowering springs # is 29767-2 but I would go for the 50mm springs(#29768). Do you have any pictures of your car?

hi christian,

thanks for the info, have been considering fitting coilovers, not sure whether to or just fit springs what do you think?why would you go for the 50mm spring?that would lower the rs 35mm,i think that's going to be too low for me,i'm running 19's bit worried about chaffing!i do have pictures but i'm new to this and can't figure out how to insert links to pics.i've tried to attach files but they're too big!

many thanks nat:cheers:

hi all,

sorry ignore that i just can't figure out how to insert pics,i must be really dumb!!:o

WOW! your car looks awesome definately like them. Wouldnt it be wise to buy 18x7 205's on front and 18x8 225's on back?

I like the rims - has anyone else fitted 8.5x18" rims to a vRS ?

Nice wheels Christian.....love the pics...very arty in the dark.;)

The rearward pics does look as if the rear wheels would rub the arch......must be an optical illusion.

I'd like to get bigger wheels but I think SWMBO will notice the change.:(

The remap she knows about....the other things are a secret!:D

no for 2 reasons...

a: cant get 205 wide 18" tyres - start at 215/35

b: would understeer like a dog

Would 215 fit 7 inch wide alloys? Also would this clear the arch lips without rubbing?

Paul are you still planning on getting speedline turinis from demon tweeks?

On the bbs how are you planning to fix the offset? I hope your not planning on spacers as these really messed up my capri.

215 fits on 7 inch or 7.5 inch rim..

poss turini but not from DT

spacers are ok but only upto about 7-8mm....

any more and wheel bearings suffer..

On my BBS I wont use spacers since I wan't the wheels further in. I will use a machine, wich I don't know the english word for, that scrapes off some(4mm) of the center of the wheel. It will however change the ET from 30 to 34 wich is supposed to solve the problem.

It's called a lathe, Chrille (at least I hope it is!!)

Nat - to link in big pics you need to host them somewhere and then put them in tags, using the full filename (case sensitive). To attach them they must be under 102400 bytes in size. I looked at the properties of the pics you posted and they point to somewhere which AFAIK doesn't exist ...

The handling is a little firmer with a little less body roll but not that big of a difference from stock springs. I simply bought them to get the car a little closer to the ground :)
