Hi,

The tyre pressure shown on the petrol cap for 1.4TSI it states - Front 2.3Bar (33psi) and Rear 2.4Bar (35psi)

 

This seems high compared with other cars i have had (have) tyres are 185/60/r15

 

I did check and the were all consistently down (i.e. F1.8 / R1.9) (using AA digital tyre gauge which i know is un calibrated, but it seems impossible to get calibration done or trust the garage air system)

 

Blew them up as per recomendations and had run out yesterday and car seemed "hard" , noisy and very "Jiggly" about the road when cornering.

 

Has anybody got/had similar issues? and how did you fix?

Those pressures are about the same on every car I have owned.  I get mine to about 32 Lbs/inch  seems fine to me

tend to run mine on the high side 34/36 but can notice very quickly when they need topping up steering gets very heavy… if any help i was always told that you should always use the same air line to top up or check pressures as it may not be certified but it gives you a standard to use

don't forget the sticker in the tank is for a generic tyre  always check the manufacture of the tyre not skoda

Normal load setting for our Spaceback TSI 105 is 2.2 bar front and rear, although I've taken the front up to 2.3 bar to reduce the 'Dunlop tyre effect' on the car.

I'm running 2.6 bar all round. No problems and comfy ride.
