Roomster vans

Featured Replies

Would I be correct in thinking you can't get these in right hand drive?

I've not see the Praktik sold in R/H drive. You may be able to get one built by contacting Skoda directly.

Been thinking slowly on this one. Getting one made to order isn't my style, might just make one myself.

Now in the market for the cheapest PD Roomster I can find....

I know it sounds like screwy logic, but I need a van not a car, want a VAG, and can't find a caddy that's worth buying.

The only problem with using a Roomster as a van is that the tailgate does not extend to floor level.  Any cargo has to be loaded/unloaded over a 6" sill.

I just wonder if a VW Sharan or Touran might be more suitable.  I suppose it depends on what you intend to carry.

And yes - good secondhand Caddies are like hens teeth.

Couldn't you p'raps buy a 2nd hand one in Czech R p'raps, or am I making that sound a bit too simplistic?

They must have an Autotrader over there to have a sniff at?

No doubt you'd get fleeced by HMRC if you brought one back over here. :dull:

Unfortunately, steering wheel would be on wrong side.

(O/T - hope all goes well today)

Yea, I know but........................... :D

Easier to jump out straight onto the pavement though.

I suppose swapping the dash and associated other gubbins off a UK scrapper wouldn't be cost effective...would it?  :notme:

See if you can get required items to do this conversion from a scrapers or someone in cz

I reckon if it could be done cheap enough (in bulk say) that there could be a specialist market for these over here.

A new Bossfox enterprise? Maybe tune it a bit add 4wd then sell it on?

Buy normal Roomster, full tint on the glass from the rear passenger doors backwards and strip out and perhaps panel the rear interior?

Or am I missing the point?

Business use tax and  VAT

Commercial against passenger vehicle.

Only downside is the RFL will be higher.

No get it re classified as a van!

Fair point, didn't think about the VAT angle. I have noticed RFL is higher and wondered why? For things like Fiesta vans and the like, which are easily comparable.

Quite simply...because they can.

Commercial against private passenger vehicle nonsense.

Crazy, but don't buy if you don't like attitude
