Trim inlays on FL Elegance - still plastic or actually aluminium?

Featured Replies

QQ for anyone who knows.

My pre-FL SE Twin-door has trim inlays (doors and dash) which are a rather nasty metal-look plastic, more plastic-look plastic if you ask me....

Anyway, I'm trying to find out if the same bits on the FL Elegance are now actually aluminium rather than the fake metal plastic stuff.

This is really the only bit of the interior that I don't like on my current car and when I order my new Elegance Estate in a few weeks, I will order the wood inlays if the standard stuff is still plastic.

So are these metal on the FL Elegance? I which case I can save myself £140 for another option.

Does not the Elegance come with the plastic wood as standard?

Does not the Elegance come with the plastic wood as standard?

Please refer to it as "injection moulded PE trim with woodlike appearance", otherwise my car feels offended.

It's all plastic. Including in the new facelift. What do you think this is, an Audi?  :giggle:

I've had the bit of silver FL trim that runs above the glovebox off and it's 100 pure plastic.

The UK spec FL Elegance comes with a silver finish, very much like the pre-FL Yeti Elegance trim.

The UK spec L&K comes with gloss black trim.

'Woodette' trim is an option, those plastic trees are expensive to grow........

I have got the same question from people seeing photos of my interior. Well...how shall I know is it plastic or metal? Stick a nail into it or what :)

It looks ok for me and thats enough. Wooden trim was as standard but I do not like it as you can see fingerprints and dirt on it. So I changed it to aluminium. Sort of.

I had my wood effect wrapped recently in a brushed aluminium. It's completely changed the look of the car and you really can't tell it's been done.

I'd recommend it as a cheap and effective way to end up with the look you want.
