Hello Briskoda Lurvers !!!

Whitelightning here from the mkivsupra.net forums :)

One of our members got his bottom smacked from a Skoda today and we wondered if it was one of you boys ? (see thread below)

I will also post the text here . . .

Whilst driving today I had this Skoda sitting on my bumper (after a while it became really irritating). As the road cleared ahead I moved across to let it past, wasn

Hello BTW

Maybe it was a Taxi on his way to a pickup and not racing at all ;)

What sort of power is the supra running from 1.25bar??

then we may know we have a few cars over 300bhp...but most sit around the 200-250bhp..

Supras run 326bhp on TT at 1.2 bar (roughly)

Many of our forum have opted to add a single turbo.

A T61 or T67 or T74 will make a nice 400+bhp 500+bhp 600+bhp respectively at 1.4 - 1.8 bar, depending on other mods (fuel rails/injectors etc).

Most supras with standard revs, (7200 max) with getrag 6 speed gearbox and big turbos have a top end 192-198mph. So none will do 200mph without upping the revs.

(and the associated engine rebuild to ensure this is safe of course.)

the one with the sticker on the back ;)

Must have been an Octy with a little tweaking done to it :D

Esp. when mentioning those kinda speeds ;)

Up to 3 digits the Furby isn't too shabby, above that the proper brick shape really works against it (and yes I have one, virtually standard)

I thought you could get the 1.8T up to 280 without too much grief?

Whats do you think is decent "reliable" power... eg how much power will you get before you start needing to uprate the internals? ;)

I wouldn't want to try and run an Octavia at anything over 140 MPH. It starts feeling skittish at 130. However, you can add the WRC-style wing, which I imagine would aid stability immensely.

As for engine mods, the 1.8 turbo is good for a very large amount of power. Sadly, the poor Octy needs a change of gearbox (at least!) to handle it. Jabbasport for instance claim 340-350 BHP for their stage 3 kit, and I seem to recall at least one website claiming they could extract even more! I believe there's been a few Octavias discussed on this forum that are chugging down nitrous.

I guess the moral of the story is that almost any car will go fast if you modify it enough. How fast can you afford to go?

EDIT: PS: that's a lovely car you've got.
