  • Picked up the RS today.     Obviously I am in the honeymoon period, but I'd like to think I've done a reasonable amount of test drives and owned enough to give me a decent feeling for a car.

  • Had the Fiesta ST back for a couple of days now, since it's turbo kit was installed.     Kit consisted of: Peron V1 Superstock hybrid turbocharger, (spool from 1200rpm, peak torque at 2500rpm a

  • As many will know, the ST-3 was sold at 18 months old with 11,000 miles on the clock.     Fast forward a few months....   I went looking for another. Even with my fleet discount a new ST-3 was mor

To be honest, if I'd known the RS was coming late February/early March I wouldn't have bought the ST.

Summer to me means July(ish).

So you never know...

any plans on modding the RS? I may look to get one of these when the citigo goes back.

Not sure yet.

Litchfield (well known GT-R tuner) and Peron (Who did the turbo kit for the ST) are planning to work together on the RS, meaning there should be some pretty nice upgrades.

Impressive. Didn't know there'd be proper versions on UK roads so soon :)

Look forward to your reviews

I think the basic one with a mountune will be enough for me, my mate is the master tech at my local dealer which would be a bonus. Hope it's as good as everyone is anticipating!

Do they only come in that blue?

Nice one Richard, looking forward to seeing this one.. :)

No, but the colour choice is (as usual for many modern cars) rather boring.

No ASBO Orange, no bright green.

Black, white, primer grey and a few other background choices, plus the Nitrous Blue used for a lot of the demo/launch cars like mine above.

Apparently around 60% of all cars have been ordered in this blue.

Clearly Ford should have given us some more exciting colours.

Danny and I dropped the ST off today at JDR for some work.

My GT1 spec MeisterR Coilovers were finished yesterday, so they are going on along with the PB 6 pot brake kit.

This should finish the car off nicely as it's already running the Peron turbo kit and LSD.

It certainly looks a high quality bit of kit.

Rather boring choice then. It should have an in your face colour though :)

That does look like a great kit. Camber adjustable?

I bet that's going to be a real rocket!

Yes.

We'll find out next Monday! :)

We will indeed :) looking forward to it

I think the orange may have been partly "killed" by Ben Aaronovitch referring to it as "ASBO Orange" in the Peter Grant books. (link to book 1 of series http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004K1EC1S?qid=1453888993&ref_=sr_tc_2_3&sr=1-2-ent )

I thought it was Clarkson that had coined the term, but maybe not.

Lack of colour choice does seem to be an issue across manufacturers now. Shame.

Some people like it, even though it's called ASBO orange.

I'd have probably gone for it... :D

Well I like it too, and agree about lack of "interesting colours".

Ben's reference was the first I know of.

Clarkson said it should have been called the Ford Asbo, I thought - based on the colour (and the manners!) in his TG vid?  ISTR he made some closing comment like "also available in blue, but why would you?".

Who was first is another matter..

Apparently from what I've been reading, the cooling side of things is going to need the most work, air and water, supposedly close to it's limits in standard form.

Allegedly it doesn't have a very big radiator and while the engine was fine in the Mustang with a bigger bay it's a bit more compact in the Focus.

So that makes sense.

So with all the mods done we tested the Fiesta ST out at Brands Hatch yesterday.

Went really well.

Nice balanced set up with good brakes, tyres and plenty of grunt though the rev range for a 1.6 turbo.

I think it's come out pretty well.

I'd say! It's flipping brilliant :) such a well built car. I'm converted :)

One of the things I was looking forward was being in this car, next time Richard lol!
