It would only be the air conditioning check, the system I am not familiar with, that would be of interest.

£25 seems a lot for very basic and in my opinion what should be compulsory 'know-how-to' checks?

I can understand it will appeal to a lot of people though and for those people, £25 is good value for money, and peace of mind, to have things checked over that they don't know about. Be nice if the customer could shadow the mechanic to get an idea as to how easy the checks are though :/

I helped a rather nice looking young lady the other day after she pulled up outside my house whilst I was faffing about with my dashboard- she asked me if I knew anything about cars, I replied not really. However I did know what the 'flashing red light' next to her speedo was... She said she had owned the car for four years but didn't realise what the 'service required' warning meant on start up, or that it needed a service or that the oil should be changed from time to time. The inside of the oil cap was coated in something that I would describe as cream rather than oil!

Mentioned lady could of done to get a spring clean leaflet through her door.

It seems like they want you to pay £25 for them to have an opportunity to upsell unnecessary work.

Apologies if I came across as aggressive in any way then !

Reading it through my opinion seems quite angry!

'Nail on head',

opportunity to Up sell,  Parts or offer the chance to change cars.

But some people think Tyre Pressures do not need checked or changed with the Weather or Seasons or ever,

TPMS will do that for them!!.

Not that they know how to check or set the TPMS.

But the offer is at least there and the work will be done properly,

unlike the Winter Check offers with some Fast Flit Dancer Chancers type places.

Most dealers do this from time to time and although the jobs are easy and straight forward it is an opportunity for the dealer to upsell parts.

But you don't have to get them done and for people who don't know what to do it is a cheap check.

Think about it there is at least half an hours work involved so at £25 that's a bargain from a main dealer.

The managers at dealerships see these things and the free VHC's as potential money spinners. Technicians on the other hand hate them as they're always on waiting diagnosis jobs and the tech doesn't get any time towards any potential bonus they're aiming for by doing a half hour check for nothing!

But we are not too bothered about the technicians bonus we just want value for money.

I want to pay for the work that has been done and the time it took.

The dealers tend to charge book times even if the job takes less time than the book.

Yeah the main aim of these is to find things such as worn brakes that are under 50% and similar items in which they call up the customer and say your car needs this done which therefore gets them more money!
