Hi all me again with a daft laddy question.

I've a vrs estate, mk1. I replaced my wiper blades soon after I bought the car. The rear wiper is not the recommended one (going by the recommendation in the wiper blade listing in halfords) as that one was too long and it bashed the rear spoiler.

It is just a normal wiper, metal frame and rubber blade. I've aero on the front and really like those.

Anyway, the top of the rear screen is not reached by the wiper. The screen curves more that the wiper.

If you've followed all that, know what I'm talking about, well done. Can you tell me what wiper I should have got to ensure all of the screen is cleared???

Because of the curve you will never be able to clear all of the screen, I tried a wide variety of blades and you always get the top bit cut off.

I still use the original arm, etc on mine and just slide in a cheapo wiper blade from Wilkos (cut to length).

I had the same problem with the top of the rear screen not being wiped. Problem solved by buying genuine spare from Skoda dealer. I replace every two years. No more expensive either.

Wow, thanks for the responses, I think I'll get in touch with my local stealer and see what they can do. I was thinking there is no way the car would have been like that from the factory.

the Hatch has the same problem, either go aero or go stealer for a curved 16inch...

Does anybody have a link for aero wipers for mk1 octy vrs I believe it's a 1u9 auq engine code and on that link above it says 1u2 and 1u5 thanks

1u2 = mk1 Hatch

1u5 = mk1 Estate.

 

1u9 = ??????

Yep must get dealer oem wiper blades as they are curved. You can if careful as mentioned pull out rubber from a blade and fit it to your OEM one.
