500+ mile report!

Featured Replies

We collected our Citigo Elegance G/t 60 5 door two weeks ago, and have some how managed to clock up over 500 miles already. (May not be a lot for some but is probably more than we did in previous two months in the car the 'go replaced).

So far so good. Really impressed with it, not that you lot need me to tell you how good it is. Trip of about 160 miles each way at the weekend with two adults and two children + luggage and the car was almost perfect. Cruise control made journey stress free and we really forgot we were in such a small car. Yes I had to change down gears a few times as traffic speeds changed (rather than just leaving it in 5th as I could with a bigget engine), but that's hardly a hardship as it responds so spritely with that cheerful 3cyl burble when you do. It's a testament to the car that we chose to take it on that trip instead of our much bigger diesel estate. And even fully laden (well almost) I think it still worked out cheaper per mile than the estate world have been. Next weekend I'm planning to take it on a 500 mile round trip, hopefully that will be just as straightforward.

The only niggle I've got is with PID. Before the trip I paired my Nexus tablet with it and downloaded several episodes of Cbeebies radio etc and loads of music to keep kids amused. But on the journey I couldn't get the two to connect, nor would it connect to my phone. I've subsequently managed to get phone to work but tablet just won't. Especially annoying as I've lost the SD card I bought specifically to put music into the PID. But that's a small gripe really.

My phone will only intermittently pair with the PID first time (Nexus 5). Solution I've found is that if you unplug the PID, don't let it go into sleep mode, then press the power button again and turn it off fully. When you turn it back on, it should pair ok. I've got in the habit of doing this after I take the key out of the ignition, so when I start the car again it pairs simply. Slightly irritating to do, but it seems to work.
