Central locking doing it's own thing - Any ideas?

Featured Replies

Our Fabia 3 has decided it likes to lock itself, usually when closing front passenger door. But tonight it started doing things while driving. Anyone have an idea as to what this could be? Tricky micro switch in the door maybe?

Could be. Try squirting a bit of WD40 in the microswitch - might be lucky! If this doesn't work I'd get your service centre to run a VCDS scan to show the error code. Removing all error codes and resetting might work. New microswitch would be last resort.

Thanks for that. I'll give it a whirl and see what happens.

Possibly a wiring loom fault otherwise? Mine has an intermittent fault when opening the drivers door wide - it will lock all of the doors! I was advised by my garage it was a wiring loom and would cost £175 (not in the extended Skoda warranty). I had a go at soldering it ( I found the broken wires, its just awkward to work on) which sorted it for a few months although it is now doing it again. :(
