What I saw at the car people today

Featured Replies

Not a fan of manual ac knobs anyway but highlighting the fact that their manual in the allu look doesn't help!

The Fabia looks prettier than the Polo. Those wheels should have stayed on the Golf rather than doing baby versions for the Polo. The Polo is on a newer platform too so I guess it helps keep a premium plus having a vw badge! :) I think id still have a Fabia RS over the Polo.

You've obviously got no taste.

I mean look, you've got a Superb!!!  :D

"Does it look like a mercedes from behind by any chance" ;)

They remind me of the Ford Carla fabric that they used in the S Capris.

are you watching reruns of Minder again :p

yeah, the Polo does look more hunkered down. Doesn't make it right though :D

Plus one

Definitely more slender

Whilst the Fabia looks slightly box like

I can see the headline now:

'VW is more expensive than a Skoda shocker'.....

:D

Well, the Polo isn't in "death white" but it does have chav lights.

I do not like that red stitching against the black. Think I am getting old but it just does not go together. Black stitching with red leather parts of the seats yes.

Polo is by far the better looking car, makes the fabia look old.

People will pay more for for a VW than a Skoda badge. Dealer prices accordingly.

When I was looking to buy I tried a used Golf GT 2.0d (140), it had absolutely nothing 'GT' about it. It was 2yr old and £15k

Bought the VRS new for £16.5k

The equivalent spec of new Golf GTI when I got the VRS was £26k

The other worrying thing was the price car people must have gave the vrs owner on trade in

Mines older than that,an 11 plate but with 20k on the clock

The mk1 vrs was the best car I've had for depreciation but for a while I've realised the mk2 is gonna sting me a bit

Still enjoyed it all though. :)

Polo here too!

But I'm sure Fabia mk2 owners have got a different opinion. ;)

Heck I have a MK2 and I would have the Polo too!

So it's either this:

Correct. A bit nicer interior I think:

Versus this:

Stereo and heating controls wrong way round as BossFox said.

So does the Fabia, if of course you are referring to the LED DRL's.

Wow the polo wins hands down ! , the fabia looks like a shopping trolley for OAP IMO its more expensive as it's done less mileage and put together with nicer stuff , I'm biased though ............ Its a golf :)

business as usual then, really?

SWMBO dismissed the fabia (even in Monte Carlo guise) after I bought the vRS.... called it a "hideous looking, boring OAP car".

She did concede that the Fabia estate, in white with black kit and black wheels looked "OK" but thats it. :(

The price difference is fair I reckon.... higher initial price of the Polo, less miles and a damn sight better looking car.

C'mon Skoda.... bring out the new Fabia already!  :wall:

Polo as well. That Fabia looks just wrong now. Hopefully the MK3 will be more appealing :)

Quite like the mk2 fabia but the polo does look better.

Drove a mk2 fabia once, never ever again it is by far the ugliest car in the vag lineup, it feels as cheap and nasty as it looks and it made sure after owning 5 skodas that I never again set foot in a skoda main dealer again.

Polo for me.

Find a black pack fabia vrs with black gigaros and a few may change their opinions.

I like the fabia but the polo is a more quality product, hence the higher price tag.

Saying that I prefer the mk1 fabia vrs to the polo gti with the 1.8T.

You lot still arguing which is best?
