Tyre speed rating H or V

Featured Replies

Got to get some new tyres for the 09 Fabia. 195/55 R15H

I know I previously moaned on this forum about the oddball 55 or 45 profiles that Skoda UK seems to love, only to be flamed that "they are as cheap as 60 or 50 profiles".

Anyway they are not, they are effing expensive, I'm paying more for these that my sons larger 205/60/15 V Octavia tyres by a long chalk.

Rant over.

So - I'm probably going for Dunlop Bluresponse - unless I change my mind at the last minute and go Michelin Energy plus.

I require at least H rated tyres, but is there any real world advantage/disadvantage to use V rated tyres? (I wont be braking any speed limits with a 1.2 htp)

Do V rated tyres last longer or less than H rated?

One disadvantage is that V rated and above tyres are only permitted one repair.
