O3 hatchback shares look and feel of a Ford Mustang

Featured Replies

Haven driven a Ford Mustang the new O3 hatchback really does have a similar look and feel. Coming from a smaller car the O3 feels long with huge space in the rear passenger seats and boot. Both the long front doors and low seat position feels just like getting in and out of a Mustang. Love both cars but O3 better given the extra European touches.

I'm not sure that Mustang owners would agree with that...or anyone else for that matter. Nevertheless this post was once again very insightful. Thank you.

Funnily enough I was thinking earlier my race blue octavia would look great with white stripes like a mustang :-)

But mustangs are ****!

The O3's long front doors and low seat position?? Have you actually even seen an Octavia?

Stevie? Stevie Wonder, is that you...?

what does your labrador think mate ?? LOL

I hired a 2014 Mustang GT last year in Vegas and I currently drive 2014 Octavia vRS Estate.  I can't see the similarity myself.  Not to say it doesn't exist just can't see it myself.

I must be the only one then or may be you don't drive with the seat so low.

You have to admit that the front doors are huge.

Still each to there own.

Even with the seat all the way down it's not very low.

As for the doors they're pretty average for a 5-door, 3 door cars have much bigger doors.

Can i ask, is this your first car?

I think this (yet again) pointless thread has already received more time on the board than it deserves.

Steve, a little filter of what justifies new threads being opened might not go amiss. It's great being excited about your new car but most people come here to look for relevant information and this...well..isn't.

Handbags at dawn I think!

Like the smutty magazine on the top shelf (so I'm told)… if it offends or bothers, then don't read it!

Quite amazes me just how many threads on this forum can start turning sour through people being unable to just accept that an individual's opinion is just that, and they have a right to freely express it (within certain boundaries).

Not forgetting of course, it spiked your interest enough for you to read and respond to it!

A light-hearted interlude does no harm (and indeed the humorous comments have received a few 'likes')… so relax… move on to another thread, and let the moderators decide if it's wasting their hosting space.

In any case, if it's that cr*p it'll disappear so many pages back that it'll die it's own natural death anyway!

DITTO that.

Can't say i see the likeness but the OP is within their rights to make a thread.

No such thing as a silly question as they say, and inferring that the OP may be stupid or disabled because you don't agree isn't doing anyone much good.

Does this mean 2 litre mark 1 fabias will be able to take the Octy 3 "Like a King" ?  :D

I concur, had a 2011 MY 5.0 GT (the first of the major facelift cars with the new 412hp V8) in Canada for a week or so and neither looks or drives anything like an Octavia.

I'm not big on American cars but have to say its probably one of the most impressive cars I've driven to date, drove brilliantly and the engine even with an autobox was just epic.......extremely fast and my god the sound, something no Octavia could ever replicate!

I don't know about mustangs but I still think my Mk2 vRS reminds me of my MGZS180 from 3 cars back (and not just because it is virtually the same colour).

I am hoping that my Mk3 when it arrives some time in the next 2 weeks will give me the same thrill.

My original comment was not comparing the engine or overall design, just the feeling getting in and out of the car and the long doors. May be it's just because the previous car was a lot smaller. With regards to the ride quality at the moment it feels more like a "go cart" - just glad I didn't go for the 19" as the roads round here are the worst.

I think your wrong most people come here because they are into Skoda's.

I come on the forum and have a good look at threads that may interest me not because it may have relevant information.

And as its an Open forum the OP can post what he likes and should not have to put up with people knocking him for doing so.

If you don't like a thread and think its pointless then just Ignore it.

And as a fairly new member I don't think you should be saying that threads should be justified or pointless.

Steveh3 and ruffday there a number of members on this forum who have a holier than thou attitude. You are right in your comments that it is an open forum. Just ignore the a holes it's not worth rising to the bait, there is a growing number of people in this country who do not think people should express their views if they differ from theirs or the so called majority.

I think you have a very vivid imagination, somehow!

What's wrong with posting a light hearted thread? What lets this forum down isn't threads such as this one - it's the sniping and petty criticism.

...there is a growing number of people in this country who do not think people should express their views if they differ from theirs...

So you're saying those people shouldn't be allowed to express their opinion, as it differs from yours..?

I too notice the similarity , both have round steering wheels, or they did have

Mine's more like a Bentley Continental GT, only a bit quicker with a more refined interior.

I think the doors are pretty normal, try an e46 coupe they seem long and heavy. Was always fun getting out of it in tight carparks.

I've not sat in a mustang so I cant comment on how they feel though

How long do you have to have been a member before you can do this? Happy to wait a little while...

On a serious note, I'm not suggestion that people shouldn't express their opinions (although some could clearly do with a reality check prior to posting), rather my point was that some of the OPs threads (there have been quite a few in the past) may be better placed in the off-topic section.

There's some really useful stuff on this forum but it gets pushed down because of stuff like this that in my opinion doesn't add a lot of value.

P.S. I am aware of the irony that my response to this will keep this on the front page even longer.
