Suspension - what is best?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Im looking to buy a felicia soon and have been trying to find the best way to go around lowering, as quite a rare car it seems to be a pain.

I have seen in other posts about foreign coilovers, cutting springs/lowered springs or using coilovers from focus/golf etc but what is the best way?

Im not looking to spend a fortunate just want some advice on what might be best to get a nice ride height without too much hassle. I know this keeps popping up on here but would like to see what some of you have done and what you think is the best route to go down.

Thanks

Just put it lowing springs I have one with hp coilovers and it doesn't sit low more like standard height and a fun thats got springs cut (mot failer) incomplete springs

ok thanks, do you know what height would be best to go to? would 45mm springs make it sit too high or would it be about right for a good stance?

it all depends on what you are trying to achieve really, a 45mm drop is a good compromise becuase it gives you ample ground clearance under the engine. personally i prefer to stay with brands like H&R or eibach but i dont know if you can get those or not for a felicia, the fk automotive ones ride a little harsh for my liking but they do reduce the body roll significantly

what sort of wheels are you running on there?

Gonna be 14" with fairly low profile tyres, maybe 50mm tyre wall, 45mm springs seems to be the lowest for the felicia other than 60mm available for the fun. Thanks

On eBay there is 60mm lowering springs :)

I've just put Gaz shocks on mine (with standard springs) and it is actually higher (which is a good thing) and yet it handles so much better! :)
