Air Con, is it covered by the wananty?

Recommended Posts

Good Day All

Does anyone out there know if "air con" is covered by Skoda Wananty? My less than 2 year old Monte's air con is not cooling!!

Look forward to your advice.

Yeah, it would be if something has failed, if it just needs re-gasing then no..

I'd say anyway, they might just look after you with it been so new, worth a call for free i guess

Thanks.

I have had my Monte since Feb, but it's only since the weather has warmed up that I have had need to use the air con. Which I think is not working!!. I had two options, get my garage ( who know me very well) down the bottom of my road to take a look, or go back to the dealer who is 15 miles away. My local garage will probably be cheaper if I have to pay, but ifs it's something I can claim under the wananty is worth the drive!!

there are some temp sensors that fail on it, these would be covered by warranty, compressor is so long as not failed due to lack of gas due to stone damage I think

have a good look at the radiator from the front , as what you think is the radiator is actually the air con radiator (the engine radiator is immediately behind it), check for any dings and damage by looking through the grill, especially the more open bit below the number plate as that seems to be the most exposed area

It is covered by warranty, obviously depending on what the problem is, as I had my vRS Octavia compressor and condenser replaced at 27000miles without having to quibble at all.

Just a thought when my car was last in at skoda for the heated seat recall and they checked the car over and recommend the air con is serviced every 2 years a regass I suspect they wanted 75 quid for it to be done. Seems a bit steep to me.
